Welcome to Saddle-Up Stables.

Formerly the Honey Do Ranch in Newark, Illinois, Saddle-Up-Stables came to be in January 2003. My dream had always been to have my own barn and surround myself with quality people and lots of animals. Well, I succeeded! We have 23 acres to work with and play on. SUS has very happy horses, as well as crazy peacocks, a petting zoo full of critters and a pack of dogs always ready to greet you.

Back in the day, SUS was a full blown Lesson/Training/Boarding facility and had the great pleasure to start hundreds of kids and adults riding. We had a lot of fun and made lifelong friends during that era, but in the summer of 2010 we decided to simplify things and get our mojo back for riding. So, currently SUS is a private boarding facility, but the emphasis remains on horses just being happy and healthy horses! The horses continue to be our “Producers”, just in a different capacity…be sure to check out the link for the farm’s newest business Saddle Up’s Black Gold.

Although we do have a 28 stall main barn with an indoor arena, I now refer to that as the “Largest Lean-to in the Midwest”! Horses have 24 hr/day access to multiple large pastures for grazing and the entire arena to cruise in and out of to avoid the weather. If someone wants to arena ride the herd is easily locked out by a gate…but you can count on them watching and “talking amongst themselves.”
